The CICAE in Budapest
On 8th and 9th December, the CICAE was in Budapest for a programme of meetings and discussions.
On Thursday, December 8th, the CICAE had its last Board meeting for the year 2016. The attendant representatives discussed the past and future projects of the association. They debated and reported about the European Art Cinema Day and the training for exhibitors. The Art Cinema Awards working group also presented its propositions to make the awards more visible and available to the members. The Board also statuted on the applications of three cinemas, which were all accepted:
Kino Tapiola, Espoo, Finland
Mestni Kino Metropol, Celje, Slovenia
Zita Folkets Bio, Stockholm, Sweden
On Friday, December 9th, the Hungarian art-house cinemas association and A member of the CICAE, Art Mozi, had prepared a tour. The Board members went to the Kino Toldi, whose exhibitor they met. They were then awaited at the Kino Puskin, where they presented the CICAE and its action, before discussing Hungarian exhibitors. The brilliant Hungarian director István Szabó (MEPHISTO, CONFIDENCE) joined them on stage and was made honorary member of the CICAE. After a shared lunch, the Board went to the Uránia cinema, one of the most beautiful in Hungary.
