A family travels to a remote island in southern Chile. During the trip they try to convince the grandparents to support them financially to build a hotel in the place. Nicolás, the man who crossed them disappears, leaving the family trapped on the island, the smiles begin to disappear. With cold, without water and without certainties, tempers are diluted, exposing the tensions that each member of the family hides.
We would like to highlight the very good level of the selection: each film has a potential on its own way. Algunas Bestias is for us the most mature and complete film and we identified with the following selling points :
– not easy but facing a very important topic, a film we need to see circulating ;
– brave production and brave director ;
– the press will talk about the film both as a piece of good cinema both for its topic ;
– the cast fits perfectly the roles and evoke a strong complicity with the director ;
– the way it deals with genre cinema.
We wish the best to all the film directors selected for Cinéma en Construction, we see a bright future ahead for them.
