Synopsis
Halla declares a one-woman-war on the local aluminium industry. She is prepared to risk everything to protect the pristine Icelandic Highlands she loves… Until an orphan unexpectedly enters her life.
Jury’s decision:
50 year old Halla is lovingly committed to her choir. Secretly and with resolute spirit she carries out attacks on the power supply in order to prevent an economic exploitation of her country. Her surprisingly granted application for an adoption and surveillance measures getting more and more tight are forcing her to take quick and even more rigorous action now.
The powerful performance of Halla, the script with its clever use of symbols and a very special soundtrack that enriches not only acoustically but also visually, have convinced us.
The jury was composed of:
Helene Christanell, Filmclub Bozen, Bolzano, Italy
Jörg Jacob, Provinz 80 Programmkino, Kaiserslautern, Germany
Inge Maurerer-Klesel, Kinos Gloria und Gloriette, Heidelberg, Germany
