19th Vilnius International Film Festival/ Kino Pavasaris: Discover the awarded films!
The CICAE is glad to announce that the ART CINEMA AWARD at Vilnius International Film Festival/ Kino Pavasaris, which took place in the Lithuanian capital during 20th March and 04th April 2014, went to the Slovenian film CLASS ENEMY (Razredni sovraznik) by Rok Bicek.
The CICAE jury of exhibitors was composed by:
With CLASS ENEMY the young Slovenian director Rok Bicek is proving his great talent in dealing with complex subjects in a mature and clever way. It is impressive how the director easily is leading a large group of mostly young and unexperienced actors. The film speaks to a wide audience – both young and adult. CLASS ENEMY strongly conveys that human interaction and dealing with emotions is an ongoing process without any black or white outcomes, especially when it comes to communication between different generations.
Due to a huge difference in the way they perceive life, the relationship between the students and their new German language teacher becomes critically tense. When one of the students commits suicide, her classmates accuse the teacher of being responsible for her death. The realisation that things are not so black and white comes too late. (Vilnius IFF)
