Marcos, a seventeen-year-old farm worker, discovers his sexuality in a hostile environment. Nicknamed Marilyn by other teenagers in town, he becomes the target both of human desire and discrimination. Marcos feels himself pushed into a corner more and more.
A remarkably well done film showing extraordinary finesse without the use of theatrics or pathos. Marylin is the portrait of someone in the process of self-discovery who is faced with the impossibility of expressing himself and the very same impossibility of remaining silent.
The jury was composed of:
Marion Goux, ACPA Bordeaux, France
Sylvie Leray, ARTCAM, Prag, Czech Republic
Stéphane De Potter, CINEART, Brussels, Belgium
