The European Arthouse Cinema Day
Arthouse cinemas exist all over Europe and flourish in areas with good infrastructure and strong supporting organisations. European Arthouse Cinema Day aims to strengthen cinemas in regions that don’t have their own arthouse unions, develop support structures and increase the visibility of arthouse films in general.
The European Arthouse Cinema Day is the first joint international activity of cinema exhibitors to promote European films and boost the cinema experience in collaboration with the distributors, producers and right holders.
The 7th European Arthouse Cinema Day took place on 13 November 2022 with about 650 cinemas from 38 countries participating. The initiative is organised by theCICAE and its national associations members in partnership with Europa Cinemas, and co-funded by Creative Europe MEDIA Programme.
