During the 37th edition of Cinélatino – Rencontres de Toulouse, the film “La Hija Cóndor” by Álvaro Olmos Torrico won the Arthouse Cinema Award in the 44th “Cinéma en Construction” section, dedicated to films in post-production.

The jury, formed by Camilla Baier of Invisible Women in Edinburgh, UK (representing CICAE), together with Martin Jérôme (Condor Distribution, France) and Enrico Dirksen (Piffl Medien, Germany) stated as following:

“We would like to award a film that tells a tender and moving story of transition, but also of modernity and tradition. A film that, while seen through a very specific cultural lens, remains universal.

We were captivated by the elaborated simplicity of the cinematography and aesthetics, the two spectacular lead actresses, and the breathtaking setting of the Andes.

We are delighted to present this award to La Hija Cóndor by Álvaro Olmos Torrico from Bolivia."
